Don't be hatin. My new craft table

This is my new craft table. My husband built it on top of a iron board frame so it can be folded up and hang on the wall when I need it out of the way. Its 36 inches deep and 2.5 yards long. As you can see, I can lay out a whole dress pattern and leave it there when I have to walk away.
I use to use the dining table, but if I was cutting out a tricky pattern and needed to stop to go do something else I couldnt leave my work on the table. Now I can leave it for ever if I want!

I'm loving my new craft room!

Button necklace.

I found this cool necklace on Pinterest and I made it.
I used buttons that I got from my Mom's sewing stuff after she died. I remember some of these buttons in her button box when I was little. That is what makes this project so cool!
Here it is,

I love it!
Here is the blog I found on Pinterest,

Blowing the dust off my sewing machine.

I decided to pull my sewing machine out of hiding and blow off the dust. Lets see what happened.

I started with a basket of mending. Then I decided to hit the fabric store. This all started on June 23rd.

This is a quick and easy sundress using a NewLook pattern #0127/6096.

I found some cotton fabric on a clearance rack at Hancock Fabrics.

a few days later I whipped this one up.

I'm not the type of person who follows directions, or recipes. With that said I decided to use the same pattern and create pieces.

Here I made a top from that same pattern. I added the pink for color. The jury is still out on that decision. Well I needed a skirt! So off to the fabric store I went. Hancock fabrics had Butterick patterns on sale for $1.99. I found a skirt pattern that said it was "Fast and easy". I love those words! Butterick #B4461 I love the different options displayed on the envelope front.

This was a fast and easy pattern! So I whipped up two skirts, the one pictured above. and another

There's more! This Maxi dress.

I love it! Again I made it with cotton. All these dresses are so comfortable in the heat here in Northern Cali! Its going to be 100 plus this weekend. Ugh!
Just this morning I finished the latest skirt. Only a little over a month after this all began! My favorite by far!!

I have some other projects quede up, like some tops and more skirts. Looks like I will be sewing in front of the air conditioner.
